※ Method of the repair and restoration

 1. Repair the whole work and restore to an original shape
( Repair Honshi and its outside )

 2. Repair only Honshi and make with the same form with new material

 3. Repair only Honshi and make with the defferent form

Roughly speaking, there are three patterns that I wrote.

I introduce each pattern as follows.

Please use it as a reference, when you repair.

1. Repair the whole work and restore to an original shape
( Repair Honshi and its outside )
【 Repair and restoration of Byoubu with 2 panels 】

The hinge of the middle was broken. So the gold background was greatly split,Honshi was damaged. And the cloths around the gold background was damaged.

I repair and restore whole of the byoubu.

(Left is a damage of the hinge, right is a damage of the gold background )

2. Repair only Honshi and make with the same form with new materials
  【 Kakejiku ( Japanese hanging scloll )→ Kakejiku 】

I repaired only Honshi. And I made Kakejiku using new cloths.

This is a enlarged photograph of Honshi before and after the repair.

 ・Left one is before.

There were many creases and many defective parts.

 ・Righet one is after.

     It became beautiful!

  【 Gaku ( Framing )→ Gaku 】

This is a photograph before and after the repair.

 ・Upper one is before.

It had a big hole in the center and was soiled with soot and dust.

 ・Lower one is after.

The calligraphy was clearly relieved because I took the dust.

  【 Byobu ( Byobu screen )→ Byobu 】

I repaired only Honshi, and made Byobu newly with new materials.

3. Repair only Honshi and make with the defferent form
  【 Kakejiku → Gaku 】

I repaired only Honshi, and remade Kakejiku into Gaku.

  【 Byoubu with 6 panels→ Byoubu with 2 panels 】

I repaired 2 honshis in the byoubu with 6 panels.

I made a byoubu with 2 panels using those 2 honshis
